AWS data centre hosting location is permanent

The choice of AWS region for hosting of an application's data with CX Index is a permanent choice.

Prior to setting up your app, CX Index recommends that you obtain formal written internal authorisation from your Legal / Compliance Department or internal Data Protection Officer confirming in which AWS Region CX Index should host your application data.

If your organisation chooses to host in e.g. Europe (London) (the Region Name), also known as eu-west-2; you cannot then e.g. 6 months later simply swap it to Europe (Ireland) eu-west-1.

CX Index can accommodate region specific hosting of your application data.

CX Index is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon's cloud computing resources that are hosted in multiple locations world-wide.

These locations are composed of AWS Regions, Availability Zones, and Local Zones.

  • Each AWS Region is a separate geographic area.
  • Each AWS Region has multiple, isolated locations known as Availability Zones.
  • Availability Zones are designed to be isolated from the other AWS Regions. This design achieves the greatest possible fault tolerance and stability. Each AWS Region is completely independent.

CX Index leverages the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) that makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while automating time-consuming administration tasks such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching and backups.
